This policy explains what personal data Crystal Myths (UK) Ltd collects when you use crystalmyths.uk or order an assessment, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it.
Who we are
Crystal Myths (UK) Ltd (“we”, “us”) is a private limited company registered in England and Wales (company number 07767174), with its registered office at 22 Hatton Wall, London, EC1N 8JH, United Kingdom. We provide remote, photography-based identification assessments of crystals and natural stone specimens across Europe.
What we collect
When you place an order we collect your name, email address, the country you are in, and the photographs you upload or send by email. If you contact us directly we keep the content of that correspondence. We do not collect payment card numbers — card payments are handled entirely by Stripe or PayPal under their own privacy policies.
Why we collect it
We use your data only to deliver the assessment you ordered, to correspond with you about it, and to keep the records we are required to keep for tax and consumer-law purposes. The lawful basis is the performance of our contract with you, and our legitimate interest in keeping basic business records. We never sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.
Photographs of your specimens
Photographs are used to prepare your written assessment and are kept with your case file. They are not published, shared or reused in marketing without your written permission. If a specimen is of unusual scientific interest we may ask separately whether you would like it featured — saying no changes nothing about your assessment.
How long we keep it
Order records, including photographs and the assessment email, are kept for six years so that we can handle follow-up questions, repeat assessments and our own tax obligations. You may ask us to delete your photographs earlier — we will do so within 30 days unless we still owe you an assessment.
Sharing
We do not share your personal data with third parties except the payment processors (Stripe, PayPal) strictly to take payment, and our email provider for delivering your assessment. Our website hosting may generate standard server logs, which are kept briefly for security.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, delete it or restrict its use, and you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk). For any of these, email info@crystalmyths.uk and we will respond within 30 days.
